First published in 2003, this book continues to sell well. It offers a whole range of ideas, as to how to get rid of slugs from your veg patch.

RHS Encyclopedia of Gardening 

This latest version of the RHS Encylopedia of Gardening is not cheap, but the information inside is timeless, and will last a lifetime, It would make a lovely retirement, birthday or Christmas gift. (published in 2022).

Allotment Month by Month

This gardening book has been consistently in the bestselling list for many years now. It is popular because the writer, Alan Buckingham, explains everything you need to know about growing fruit and vegetables, month by month, at an allotment or vegetable garden. Ideal for beginners, but also for those with experience of growing.

The English Roses

If you know a friend or family member who loves roses, this book is amazing. It was written by David Austin, one of the world's greatest rose breeders, who sadly died a few years ago, after decades of creating beautiful new roses, at his rose nursery in the English Midlands. Lots of information about roses and beautiful pictures.

RSPB Handbook of Garden Wildlife

An interesting and easy read, packed full of information about wildlife gardening from the RSPB (Royal Society for the Protection of Birds), the UK's largest nature conservation charity.
