Wooden Greenhouses Made With Western Red Cedar Timber
Alton Greenhouses, Station Works, Fenny Compton, Southam, Warwickshire CV47 2XB
Alton Greenhouses have been making wooden greenhouses since 1921, meaning that generations of gardeners have had countless hours of enjoyment and relaxation growing plants in our well made greenhouses. We use only the finest Western Red Cedar timber for frames that ensures the greenhouses are durable and of the highest quality.
Some gardeners not familiar with wooden greenhouses might have a concern that timber framed structures will not be as robust as metal. However, it should be remembered that timber framed structures can be very strong and still be standing centures later!
* The timber we use, Western Red Cedar, does not warp, shrink or swell excessively and is virtually immune from decay. It has great insulating properties and has a natural repellant against insects, vermin and moths.
* Toughened safety glass used as standard.
* Most models have concrete base kerbs to increase resistance from rot and increase rigidity.
The Cedar frames of our timber greenhouses blend perfectly into natural surroundings. The various designs, sizes and shapes make our greenhouses suitable for a range of settings and garden sizes.
