Snow UK - Sixties Style

With some more snow possibly on the way and many people still wondering how the snow a few days ago brought a world capital to a stand still and closed thousands of schools. At one point every bus in London was out of operation and as the media noted, not even Hitler's Blitz managed that!

There is an old saying that 'The past is a foreign country' and this film from the winter of 1963, shows a time before Healthy and Safety, lawsuits and when many of the population had endured the toughest of conditions on Arctic and Atlantic Convoys, or flew so high in Lancaster Bombers they required electric suits in the tail guns to stop them from freezing to death!

Makes modern Britain seem a bit feeble doesn't it!
