Last May, while out running, (Newcastle) I noticed this stunning avenue of Lime trees. This year I thought I would take some photos and share them with readers. When the leaves are new the colour is so vibrant and bright. If you were going to paint them you would need to mix up a bit of green, a bit of bright yellow and a dash of white. The leaves are quite small and allow plenty of dappled light through, and the branches hang low, creating an arch of greenery as the branches from both sides of the pavements meet.
The trunks are like big elephant feet, silvery, smooth and solid. They certainly make the street stand out from streets that are treeless.
