BRIEF HISTORY
Malcolm & Phemie Rose started making this garden from a rocky steep 2 acres some 20 years ago. Dunmanus Bay is a mere 10 yards from the bottom of the garden. Over the years it has developed and changed. The latest addition was the fernery and before that the Mediterranean Garden (2001). The grass disappeared in the west end of the garden and gravel and small ponds took their place. The heathers and dwarf conifers bank is now the Southern Hemisphere walk. There are collections of plants developed over the years, namely Acers, Sorbus, Hostas and Restios
HORTICULTURAL HIGHLIGHTS
Spring and autumn are the 2 seasons when the woodland garden is at it's most colourful. June is the best time for the Southern Hemisphere Walk and the Mediterranean Courtyard looks good year round.
